DCOTSS 2021 summer deployment begins

DCOTSS field activities begin in Salina, Kansas. One of the mains goals will be to make
in-situ measurements of air plumes in the stratosphere that has been influenced by deep convection
. There will be around 85 hours of total flight time distributed across flights in July and August.
The ER-2 aircraft landed in Salina, KS on the 12th. During June it was in Palmdale, CA for instrument testing and integration. (Credit: Yaowei Li)
